Johanna frid

Johanna Frid (b. 1988) made her literary debut in 2017 with the poetry collection Familieepos (co-written with Gordana Spasic), which was nominated for both the Catapult Award and Swedish Radio's Poetry Prize. Her debut novel Nora or Burn Oslo Burn (2018) was a critical sensation, earning her Dagens Nyheter's prestigious Cultural Prize in 2019. With Harald's Mother (2023), she has established herself as one of Scandinavia's most compelling contemporary voices.

Frid's eagerly awaited new novel Marianne? will be published by Albert Bonniers Förlag in October 2026. More than a true crime novel, it's a tender exploration of some of the most important female relationships: the mother figure, the childhood friend, the adult confidante – told with Frid's signature precision, humor, and sharpness.
