Kajsa Grytt
Kajsa Grytt (b. 1961) is a Swedish musician, author and therapist. A punk icon whose lyrics have received as much attention as her music, even becoming the subject of a doctoral dissertation at Stockholm University.
Grytt has always had one foot firmly planted in literature. Alongside a forty-year career in music, she has written drama, poetry and essays. She published her debut novel in 2014, Nio dagar, nio nätter (Norstedts) and has also studied screenwriting at the renowned Alma Education.
Her prose is direct, assured and vibrant. Grytt writes about human relationships, desire and abrasive forms of love in a voice that is honest yet marked by a lingering vulnerability.
Desert Dogs is her fourth novel, a Swedish near-future western set in a scorching desert beyond the mountains – urgent, and deeply human.
