And when her son brings home a violent and abusive Neapolitan man, whose gaze settles on Gemma’s daughter, she does not deny him the patriarch’s seat at the head of the table.
Decades later, Gemma’s grandson Leone leaves for Rome, his head filled with music and his heart set on escaping the curse that seems to haunt the family. It is 2010. Berlusconi is Prime Minister, Italy is shifting once again, and in Rome Leone meets Mia, a Norwegian lyric soprano studying at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory. She, too, carries a dark family history. Where Leone is heavy, Mia is light – and together, they may offer each other a way forward.
All That Is Mine Is Yours spans one hundred years and five generations: a story of dreams and disillusionment, of rise and collapse, of love and betrayal; and of what it means to endure, despite everything.
